Product information

Adequate fuel storage and effective water management are essential for maintaining fuel quality. Microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, yeast, and mould can develop in stored fuel, particularly where fuel and water meet. Microbial growth may create biomass and sludge, contribute to corrosion, and lead to clogged filters and nozzles. Unitor™ DieselPower MG-Control is a self-dispersing liquid treatment developed to control microorganisms in fuel tanks and fuel systems before combustion. It may be applied undiluted, either manually or through a dosing pump.

Features

  • Self-dispersing formulation for direct addition to the fuel tank
  • Lower napthalene content with better safety profile
  • Safe for use on all materials, including metal and synthetic rubber
  • Excellent solubility and dispersion in all types of diesel fuels.
  • Suitable for preventive, decontamination, and shock-treatment applications
  • Curative performance has been independently tested in diesel fuel in accordance with ASTM E1259-23

Benefits

  • Fast acting broad-spectrum anti-microbial activity against bacteria, fungi, yeast, and moulds
  • Supports reliable fuel-system operation when combined with good water management, tank housekeeping, and filter monitoring
  • Reduced filter and nozzle fouling caused by microbial growth and biodeposits
  • Reduced risk of corrosion associated with microbial contamination
  • Improved operational reliability through better fuel-system cleanliness
  • Minimized microbial resistance and long-lasting protection against microbial contamination
  • Completely combustible, leaving no corrosive byproducts
  • Supports fuel-quality preservation during storage

Directions for use

DieselPower MG-Control is self-dispersing and can be added directly to the fuel tank. Apply the product undiluted, either manually or through a suitable dosing pump. The appropriate dosage depends on whether the product is being used preventively or to treat existing microbial contamination. |

Treatment

Recommended Dosage

|

Application

| |------------------|----------|----------|----------|----------|----------| | Preventive treatment, continuous | 0.20 litres per ton | Treat all new fuel charged to the tank | | Preventive treatment, periodic | 0.60 litres per ton | Dose periodically every two months | | Decontamination | 0.80 litres per ton | Treatment of contaminated fuel | | Shock treatment | 3 litres per ton | High contamination, visible biomass, or filter blockage | For shock treatment, the tank configuration and fuel-system layout may affect distribution and treatment time. Allow at least 24 hours of treatment time. Recommended distribution methods For effective distribution of DieselPower MG-Control in the fuel: • Add the product while filling the tank so that the incoming fuel creates turbulence and supports mixing. • Add the product when the tank is approximately one-third full, then continue filling the tank. • Circulate or transfer the treated fuel from one tank to another and back, where operationally suitable. • Monitor filters and contamination indicators following treatment. • Remove accumulated water from tanks and maintain good tank housekeeping.
