Enterococci serve as indicator organisms, as their presence in potable water or ballast water may indicate fecal contamination and associated hygienic risk.
Product information
The test is designed to detect Enterococcus species in potable/ ballast water samples within 24 hours. When the substrate is metabolised by enterococci, the sample changes colour from blue to green, indicating a positive result. Any colour change from the original blue to green is considered positive. No ultraviolet (UV) light source is required for result interpretation.
