Regarding the impact / drone attack on Mina Al Ahmadi port:

- Currently, authorities are busy getting the fire in control.
- They have posted that they will assess the situation and the extent of the damage.
- Decision to resume loading or continue suspending the loading will be taken.
- We are given the understanding that none of the ships have been asked to leave berth – this is applicable for the commercial and oil berths.
- Should there be any new threat; the authorities will guide the port control to take necessary steps.
- At all times, vessels must follow the instructions from the port control.

1. Is the port open for vessel port calls?

- Bapco Oil Terminal : The shipping movements on Hold from 18th March 2026 PM hours until further notice (19 March 2026, 09:00 LT).

- Bahrain ports are operating normally at the moment; however, operations are being temporarily suspended whenever there is a security alert issued by the Ministry of Interior and the hazard siren is activated.

 

1.1 Is there any port congestion in the area?

1.2 Are there any restrictions on cargo operations?

1. Port operations at Khalifa Bin Salman Port, including berth and gate operations, will resume from 14th March, 0600 Hrs. (13 March 2026, 18:49 LT)

2. APM Terminals Bahrain is implementing temporary measures at Khalifa Bin Salman Port to prioritize delivery of essential commodities, and issue manual delivery appointments, especially for the following (5 March 2026, 09:00 LT):
- Reefer containers (frozen and chilled cargo)
- Pharmaceutical cargo
- Food cargo
*Capacity: 20 trucks per hour
*Timing: 0600 to 1000 hrs
Priority cargo release requests will be reviewed by the APM Terminals Customer Care team and permitted only for the commodities listed above. Requests for non-priority cargo under priority status and requests without complete documentation will not be processed.

 

2. Is crew change permitted?

Airport is closed so crew change has yet resume. No other crew change restrictions including entry visa processing.- 5 March 2026, 09:00 LT

 

3. Any other restrictions/disruptions due to the current situation?

- The Bahrain Ministry of Interior has imposed a ban on maritime movement in Bahrain waters effective from 29 March 2026, applicable daily from 1800 hrs to 0400 hrs, as a safety measure to protect seafarers and sea‑goers. This restriction applies to fishing boats, yachts, and other small vessels, and does not apply to ocean‑going vessels. - 30 March 2026, 16:00 LT

- Bahrain Airport remains closed; therefore, crew change operations have not yet resumed locally. However, the national carrier Gulf Air has begun operating flights for Bahrain‑bound passengers via Dammam, KSA, with transportation arranged by road between Bahrain and Dammam. The KSA transit visa and transportation for this movement will be provided directly by Gulf Air. - Bapco Energies declared force majeure on its Group operations which have been affected by the on-going regional conflict in the Middle East and the recent attack on its Refinery complex. The company clarified that all local market needs are fully secured according to the proactive plans in place, ensuring the continuity of supplies and meeting local demand without impact - 9 March 2026, 10:00 LT

- Airport is closed so crew change has yet to resume.

- All ports operational vessel captains are to follow instructions from port control at all times (23 March 2026, 12:30 LT).

No congestion as Kuwait does not permit any shelter options. The transit from Strait of Hormuz is a key factor; vessels are generally opting to wait outside. - 23 March 2026, 12:30 LT

- No, immigration has suspended all crew visas. - 24 March 2026, 09:00 LT

- Kuwait’s airspace is closed/ no commercial flights are operational.

- Authorities are not permitting supply boats/small boats etc to go out.

- Port / Authorities have not designated any shelter area for refuge; focus is on the vessels that are being fixed to load or discharge at Kuwait.

 

3. Any other restrictions/disruptions due to the current situation?

- Airspace is closed due to current situation.

- Official message from Port Authority overseeing Oil/Gas ports of Kuwait: Please be advised that the port is currently operating under Security Level 2 in light of recent regional security developments. As a precautionary measure, vessels are instructed to maintain main engines on a very short notice, ensure continuous enhanced lookout on deck and bridge, report any unidentified aerial or marine activity to Port Control, maintain crew readiness, and minimize non-essential deck activities.

- Qatar Government Communications Office announced the Qatari airspace partially reopened. Following the temporary suspension of flights, a limited safe operating corridor has been established, starting from 7 March 2026.

- QatarEnergy has announced that "Due to military attacks on QatarEnergy’s operating facilities in Ras Laffan Industrial City and Mesaieed Industrial City in the State of Qatar, QatarEnergy has ceased production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and associated products." - 2 March 2026, 15:51 LT.

- Some airlines have decided to temporarily suspend flights to and from Doha.
