Methanol Bunkering
This 2-day training course will provide a deeper understanding of using Methanol as a marine fuel, the associated bunkering operations involved and the management of Methanol bunker tanks. The course provides the introduction to methanol and its use as a marine fuel and focuses on the safety and stages of the bunkering operation, gas-fueled engines, the management of the Methanol bunker tanks while in service and emergency response actions.
As well as covering the safety-related aspects of using methanol as a source of fuel for ships, this training course will cover in detail the technical aspects of the various different solutions and what needs to be considered for the bunker transfer, storage and handling of the Methanol using the various systems.

- Variuos safety concepts with regards to Methanol’s Hazards, Emergency Shutdown (ESD)
- Environmental effects, Fire protection and First Aid measures for Methanol contact on eyes, skin and inhalation.
- Inerting and Purging of Methanol tanks.
- Gas freeing of Methanol tanks
- Combustion aspects of Methanol in 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines.
