U.S. Customs: In-Bond Regulatory Changes.
#PortNews |

From July 2th, 2018 paper CBP Form 7512 is no longer accepted. Electronic filing of new in-bond transactions is expected. However, enforcement processes at the border as well as verification or audit operations such as warehouse withdrawals, FTZ exports and transfers, vessel or aircraft supply operations where additional information is required and no electronic form is available allow paper form or paper alternatives. This will change on August 6th, 2018 when electronic reporting of all transactions will be mandatory. CBP will no longer accept paper copies of the CBP Form 7512. In addition, carrier will be required to report any diversion to a port other than described on the original in-bond document.  An ACE edit will reject any arrival not compliant. Electronic reporting of bonded cargo location (FIRMS code) is also required and will result in rejection if not provided.
