Shao calls upon 15 years of operations and sales experience in her new role, having previously worked for container company Maruba China as China Operations Manager, prior to joining WSS as an Account Manager in 2011.

Located in Shanghai, Shao will manage WSS’s ever-expanding agency business across its three offices located in Northern, Central and Southern China.

Having attended 4,500 port calls in 2014, WSS China’s ability to liaise with various local ports across the globe and understand their respective operational challenges means WSS can provide clients with all the information necessary for a smooth port call, even before their vessel arrives.

Currently studying for a Masters in Social Psychology to complement her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biotechnology, Shao’s ongoing academic development complements her rock solid work ethic and experience.

“I am strict with myself in my daily routine and I try to constantly focus on improving the way I work. In my opinion, being reliable and responsible are the key qualities in order to become a successful sales professional.”

Leading by example, Shao’s day-to-day responsibilities include joining Account Managers for customer visits and monitoring communications to ensure every single port enquiry is handled promptly and properly, at the same time overseeing the performance of the entire sales team.

Shao believes her attitude and approach is what sets her apart. She says:“I encourage every team member to be diligent, dedicated and professional in their work. In this way, all team members are open and willing to offer help should anyone in the team need assistance.”
