The award recognizes achievements in fleet optimization and ship operating efficiency. The award was presented at the gala awards luncheon on the 13th of October, during the SHIPPINGInsight 2015 Fleet Optimization Conference & Exhibition.

Wilh. Wilhelmsen and Callenberg’s entry describes a successful project case study for MV Tønsberg, part of the Wilh. Wilhelmsen fleet.

Callenberg installed an integrated engineered solution capable of controlling and managing engine room equipment aboard MV Tønsberg. The ER-EMT solution (engine room - energy management technology) uses True Demand™ automation technology that responds to the varying conditions of the engine room. In addition to delivering direct energy savings, the crew can constantly monitor and verify the status of each controlled unit and ensure that the savings are sustainable.  This opens more scope for benchmarking and energy optimisation.

Shipping and Environment Manager, Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA Marine Operations, Petter Jønvik says, “We are thrilled about this award. The energy management technology installed on the Tønsberg by Callenberg is delivering what was promised.  This and other technologies is supporting our ambition to reducing the environmental impact of our business. Our vision is to continuously improve our operations and seek to achieve zero emission.”

“We are very proud to win this award. It proves our strategy of continuous innovation as a differentiator, providing results that are recognised by the industry,” said Petter Traaholt, CEO Callenberg Technology Group. He added, “Once again this shows that Callenberg is a leader of development for the future in our technology areas.”

Based on the positive outcome on MV Tønsberg, this technology will be deployed on other vessels in the Wilhelmsen fleet. Callenberg has also secured orders for European based container ship operators.
