The water levels decrease on the Mississippi River.

Expected water depth at American locations: New Orleans 152 cm (4.99 ft), Reserve 217 cm (7.12 ft), Donaldsonville 288 cm (9.45 ft), Baton Rogue 503 cm (16.51 ft), Red River Landing 968 cm (31.76 ft). For the coming weeks the levels are expected to further decrease slightly. The Authorities plan to dredge the river channel to 50 ft., so three Southeast Louisiana ports can accept bigger cargo ships to take advantage of the Panama Canal's expansion.
