MV Trianon 

The PCTC (Pure Car and Truck Carrier) MV Trianon is the first vessel in a series of three built by Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co. Ltd in Japan. The vessel is specially designed for carrying cars and trucks but she has also flexibility to carry high & heavy and other project cargo. MV Trianon has a total capacity of 6050 cars (RT43) or 620 trucks. Her sisterships are MV Trinidad and MV Tricolor. The ship is built to the class of DNV (Det Norske Veritas) with the following designations DNV +1A1, Car Carrier MCDK, PET EO +MV. 

Deck and Ramp System:
Heavy units are loaded on the strengthened decks 5, 9 and 11 which can carry loads of 1 ton/m2 and deck 7 which is able to carry loads of 2 tons/m2. Deck no. 1, 12 and garage allow loads of 0.18 tons/m2, while deck 2, 3 and 6 can be used for loads up to 0.4 ton/m2. For increased cargo flexibility deck 4, 8 and 10 are divided into hoistable sections with a carrying capacity of 0.18 tons/m2.

The vessel is fitted with two loading and discharging ramps with entrance on deck 7. The stern ramp is arranged with a 35-degree angle of incident from the centre line with a ramp width of 7m. Maximum capacity is 118 tons and 25 tons axle load. The midship ramp is arranged with a 90-degree angle and a ramp width of 5 m. The maximum capacity is 10.5 tons. The arrangement with one stern quarter ramp on the aft starboard side and one midship ramp provides good flexibility for cargo operations.

Anchoring/Winches:
The deck machinery consists of eight mooring winches, four of which are placed on the forecastle deck and four are placed on aft mooring deck. All winches are hydraulic type M2703/E12 with a brake holding power 52 tons at 1st layer on tension drum.

In addition there are two anchor winches located at forecastle deck, one DM-2 at starboard side and DM-3 Port side. Both hydraulic type M2703/E12-30Tx9m/min. with a brake hold power of 207 tonnes. There is one Sekigahara Seisakusho crane type SWL with capacity 7 tons fitted on upper deck starboard side used for spare parts -and provision handling

Cargo ventilation:
Fans evenly distributed throughout the vessel create good ventilation during loading and discharging operations. The largest compartments are ventilated with at least 29 air changes an hour and the smaller compartments with almost 60 air changes an hour.

The propulsion machinery is a Mitsui B&W 6S60 MCE engine with an output of 9000 kW at 96.5 rpm. The main engine is attached to a fixed 4 bladed propeller and fitted with remote control from the bridge. For increased manuvering abilities there is one 1180 Kw KT-187 B1 bow thruster installed. The vessel is equipped with a highly effective half spade rudder. For electrical power supply there are two Daihatsu DL-28 generators with an output of 1200 kW each and one Daihatsu DL-24  generator with an output of 700 kW. To ensure sufficient power in emergency situations one 160 kW Mitsu –Deutz BF 6L 513/RL emergency generator is installed.

Interior:
All cabins are located on upper deck and the vessel is equipped with gym, swimming pool, and separate TV-room for officers and crew to provide for the possibility of relaxing activities. Pilot cabin is placed on bridge deck for easy access to the bridge.

Security arrangements:
For fire fighting, the ship is fitted with a permanent installed CO2 fire extinguishing system for engine room and cargo holds. In addition there are a number of portable CO2, foam and water fire extinguishers. The vessel has 2 fully enclosed life boats with self-lowering system and a capacity of 33 persons each. In addition there are four Viking life rafts with carrying capacity 16 persons each and 3 pcs survival suits.
