Unitor Oily Water Pod

A fresh solution to an old problem
The Unitor Oily Water Pod is a new adsorption technology based on the patented MyCelx® compound, which makes oil sticky and elastic. The system is certified by Lloyd's Register to 5ppm on the International Maritime Organisation's (IMO) oily water regulations MEPC 107(49) 'Type C'  test emulsion.

The Unitor Oily Water Pod is vital if you want to be certain that over board discharge is 15ppm or less. It features an adsorption technology based on the patented MyCelx® compound, which is cured onto purpose engineered adsorption elements.

Upon contact with MyCelx® oil gets sticky and elastic which permanently traps it in the adsorption elements (see figure 1.1 and figure 1.2). This enables the vessel to always discharge bilge within the allowable limit of 15ppm, even when the OWS under perform.

Being robust and highly efficient, the Unitor Oily Water Pod system stands out by treating both free phase oil and stable emulsions effectively.

This, combined with ease of installation and operation, means the Unitor Oily Water Pod is where oily water problems end and peace of minds begins.

Easy installation & operation
Installation is easy thanks to small footprint and flexible layout. Electrical connections are not needed; the Pod only requires plumbing into the bilge line. This self-activating system requires minimal supervision during operation. A visual indicator system shows when adsorption elements have reached full capacity.

Exceeds environmental regulatory standards
The system captures emulsified and free oil with same effectiveness to guarantee results under 15ppm regardless of rough weather conditions. The advanced technology permanently immobilises captured oil and the saturated adsorption elements retain oil, but not water, thus they can be incinerated with ease.

Cost efficient solution

With 6-9 months lifetime for adsorption elements, the Unitor Oily Water Pod is a cost efficient solution, especially with landing charges of upward of USD120m-3. Money on costly bilge disposal is saved as the bilge can be adequately treated onboard.
