Atwood 10 is a Deepwater Semi-Submersible Drilling Rig owned by Atwood Oceanics Pacific Limited.
Atwood Oceanics Inc. is a Houston based International Offshore Drilling Contractor building their 1st deepwater semi-submersible drilling rig at Jurong Shipyard. Jurong Shipyard has also an order for Atwood 11.
This is the 11th consecutive HVAC contract for a semi sub drilling rig for Wilhelmsen Marine Engineering at Jurong. The first contract was signed back in 2002. WME’s contractual services are HVAC Engineering for all air conditioned areas as well as equipment deliveries. The equipment delivery contains Air Handling Units, Cooling machinery, Control Panels, Fans, Heaters, Cabin units etc. Delivery schedule for the HVAC system is 4th Quarter 2009 and the complete rig to be delivered in first quarter 2011.
The semi-submersible drilling rig is based on the Friede & Goldman design and is a moored non-propelled semi-submersible and is built to be for water depth ratings of max 8.000 feet. This is a rig suitable for operations in most of the world’s known challenging deepwater arenas and is already contracted to Chevron Australia.
