Designed for Marine Conditions
Automatic shut down protecting against input voltage fluctuations or attempted overload. Display information to the operator stating reason for shut down.
Specially designed tunnel cooling and high grade aluminium casing for optimal protection against salty corrosive atmosphere, dust and other atmospheric contamination.
Fan on demand function; onboard repair welding is normally done at low duty cycle, continuos cooling will therefore mean excessive power consumption and cooling tunnel contamination.
Specifications in full conformity with Code of Safe Working Practices for Merchant Seamen to ensure operator safety.
Optimal Arc Control and Operator Safety
With the remote control the welder has full control of the welding circuit and may switch off welding current/secondary voltage completely both when changing electrodes and in case welding cables should be damaged or short circuited.
The remote control enables the welder to place the electrode in the groove, close the face shield, then switch on power and start the arc exactly where the weld shall begin. The power may be adjusted continuously during welding.
Plugs in ‘Anywhere’
Without any reconnection the UWI-400 may be connected to any 3 phase primary voltage between 380V and 440V, frequency 50-60 Hz. At voltages outside this range the machine will close down and display reason for shutdown.
