With effect from 17 August 2009, Wilhelmsen Ships Service has acquired all the remaining shares in Wilhelmsen Ships Service Ukraine (Barwil Ukraine Ltd.) from their local partner. This investment is a recognition of Wilhelmsen Ships Service's confidence in the Ukraine as a key growth area in the years to come and is an opportunity to provide even better services to their customers.
Wilhelmsen Ships Service offers an unparalleled setup in the Ukraine through its five offices across the country, offering Ships Agency and Maritime Logistics services as well as deliveries of a comprehensive range of Unitor products. This setup is well positioned for further growth, which is also recognized as being the location for a busy and growing Customer Services base.
The name of the legal entity is in the process of being changed to Wilhelmsen Ships Service Ltd.
