The enhanced services include account sales to Polish owners, ship managers and charterers. In addition, ships agency services are now available under the name of Wilhelmsen Ships Service in the ports of Szczecin and Gdansk, including their sub-ports. Services include marine products and technical services, safety and refrigeration. Wilhelmsen Ships Service also now operates freight forwarding services in and out of these ports for Polish and foreign customers.
Wilhelmsen Ships Service Polska Sp. z.o.o. was established in Poland at the end of 2008 to delineate the roles of Wilhelmsen Ships Equipment and Wilhelmsen Ships Service in the Polish market. It also creates a framework for Wilhelmsen Ships Service to develop further.
Connection to Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s global integrated IT environment has played a vital role in integrating the newly-structured Polish operation into the company’s extensive resources capability. This gives the Polish office complete access to the management, operations and logistics elements of Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s global network
“The IT implementation project has been a challenge for our teams in Poland,” commented General Manager of Wilhelmsen Ships Service in Poland, Andrzej Kandula. “That project is now completed and we are delighted that it means WSS Poland is able to offer such a comprehensive service in this strategically important region.”
The IT system now links Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s agency to its financial and operating systems, benefitting the customer through easy control of projects. The customer can refer to the status of any job on line, without the need to contact Wilhelmsen Ships Service. All service descriptions and codes are standardized, as are invoicing and other documents.
