Wagenborg Shipping has signed a 3 year agreement with Wilhelmsen Ship Service to handle all agency work, bunker calls and some technical services and marine product supply. The agreement covers North and South America, the Caribbean, Oceania and Asia, South Africa and East Africa.
At present, Wagenborg manage and operate a fleet consisting of 160 modern ships, with sizes ranging from 1,000 to 20,000 DWT. Wagenborg operate in the dry cargo market with ice strengthened dry bulk carriers and multi-purpose vessels. A fleet of 10 newbuild bulkers will be delivered in 2009 and 2010, to service the expanding Asian bulk market. Wagenborg also operate special cellular container vessels and are actively involved in the roll-on/roll-off paper carriers, used for the transportation of forestry products such as paper and pulp.
Wilhelmsen Ships Service expects to handle about 300 port calls per year for Wagenborg Shipping as a result of this agreement.
