Customers signing up for worldwide husbandry agreements

Wilhelmsen Ships Service has today announced that its office in Piraeus, Greece has won three new husbandry agreements with shipping companies operating worldwide.

As a result of effective teamwork within the Wilhelmsen Ships Service network, Wilhelmsen Ships Service in Piraeus recently signed husbandry agreements with Meadway Shipping, Lotus Shipping, and Ionia Management. These agreements commit Wilhelmsen Ships Service to handling several hundred port calls per year, and indicate that our frame agreements for Ships Agency are proving successful in an increasingly demanding market.

Meadway Shipping Inc. is an international shipping company located in Athens, specializing in the transportation of dry bulk cargoes. Apart from managing dry-bulk Vessels, Meadway is involved in Chartering and S&P activities, which operate as separate divisions within the group.  Wilhelmsen Ships Service agents will be responsible for husbandry agreements in 12 ports around the world.

Lotus Shipping, located in Athens, own several chemical tankers, chartered out around the world. They have signed a husbandry contract with Wilhelmsen Ships Service to cover ports in Malaysia and Singapore, and will later expand this to include some Indian ports.

Ionia Management SA is based in Piraeus. The company operates oil, product and chemical tankers around the world.

Several hundred port calls
“We are delighted to be representing these companies,” said Costas Despotides, the Wilhelmsen Ships Service Sales Manager for ships agency in the Eastern Mediterranean. “They represent different cargoes in a variety of different locations worldwide. This is exactly what our agency network is designed to handle. We look forward to the challenge of managing their business, which should amount to several hundred port calls around the world.”
