First contract in Russian river fleet market for Wilhelmsen Ships Service

06.04.2009 (Ships Service )
Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s team in Eastern Europe has won its first supply contract in the Russian river fleet market. The deal covers delivery of a broad range of marine products to Volga-Neva’s 118 vessel’s fleet of river vessels.

Following several months of negotiations, Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s team in St. Petersburg headed by Slava Khobta was successful in its bid to supply its marine products to this major operator’s fleet of dry cargo river vessels. These vessels trade in Russia’s extensive network of rivers, through St. Petersburg and out into the Baltic and North Sea.

James Parsons, Area Director for Wilhelmsen Ships Service operations in Eastern Europe states that the supply agreement with Volga-Neva is an important milestone and confirms the company’s strategy to deliver standardised quality products to customers in Eastern Europe as they do in the rest of the world. “We see great potential in Eastern Europe and are focused on growing our business here,” he adds.
