MV Harvest Plains is owned by Archer, Daniels, Midland Co. of Decatur, Illinois (NYSE: ADM). ADM is an industrial company in the agricultural field and has recently moved into ship owning.
ADM is engaged in procuring, transporting, storing, processing and merchandising agricultural commodities and products. The Company is a processor of oilseeds, corn, wheat, cocoa, and other feedstuffs and is a manufacturer of vegetable oil and protein meal, corn sweeteners, flour, biodiesel, ethanol, etc.
