MHI Hull No. 2218 (TBN Tortugas) was delivered in the morning of 22nd December 2006 in Nagasaki, Japan at 09.10 local time (00.10 GMT) from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd to Assetfinance December (R) Ltd.
From the same time the vessel was leased to Wilhelmsen Lines Car Carriers Ltd., Southampton, UK (WLCC). WLCC also has full management. The vessel will be deployed in Wallenius Wihelmsen Logistics. The vessel is registered in The Norwegian Ship Registry. The naming ceremony will take place in Singapore on 9 January 2007. Tortugas is a sister vessel of Torrens, Toledo, Toronto, Topeka and Tombarra and will be operated by WLCC by vessel manager Kaare Strand.
