Bridge team management

Despite having modern equipment on the bridge, accidents still occur. Poor Bridge Teamwork has often been cited as the main reason for these mishaps.

This has compelled the maritime industry to take a second look at the navigation practices being followed at sea. New ideas on effective bridge team management are being explored. IMTC has designed a course which is tailored to address these deficiencies. A state-of-art full-mission Norcontrol Polaris Ship Manoeuvring Simulator is used to highlight various aspects of good bridge teamwork. Oil majors and port state control inspectors have realized the value of such courses and now insist that all officers undergo training in Bridge Team Management.
