Popularly known as 'IMTC', the Indian Maritime Training Centre started off in a small way in 1998, and grew rapidly after moving into its present premises in Nov. 2000. Over the last five years, IMTC has acquired a unique 'Brand image', which stands for top quality specialized training across many areas of the maritime field. Indeed, IMTC's training Courses, infrastructure, and training equipment are widely acclaimed as being of 'world standard'.
IMTC is proud to state that Ship-owners, Operators and Managers from many countries have endorsed the quality of training by using its facilities to fulfill their training needs. Not only has IMTC been imparting training to Officers from the Indian sub-continent, but has also had the pleasure of training seafarers and superintendents from Russia, Poland, Croatia, Dubai, Iran, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, China etc.
In addition to collaborations with the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, IMTC also has close links with Mitsui OSK Lines of Japan, Bergesen DY ASA, and Seagull of Norway. Some of IMTC's Courses are being conducted in Thailand, Norway, Philippines, and across the seven seas by way of on-board training !
Recognizing the global nature of the Maritime Industry, IMTC has found it apt that the new name reflects the internationalization of its training activities.
