The deal was signed on 19 April and is valued at NOK 20m. over a three year period. Included is IT support for WMS super-users on several continents.
“With the acquisition of Unitor in 2005, Wilhelmsen Maritime Services also gained a link with the ErgoGroup in Kongsberg, Norway. The relationship has worked well, and we have therefore chosen to renew the agreement. We look forward to a new period of constructive cooperation within an active partnership,” says Mette Ungersness Bakke, vice president IT for WMS.
Improve WMS's capabilities to expand
The purpose of the deal is to improve WMS’s capability to expand in line with business needs, improve operational efficiency and reduce total IT costs.
“The arrangement will also secure access to the extensive pool of competence that this large player in the Norwegian sourcing market possesses,” continues Ungersness Bakke.
24/7 support of WMS global network
In addition to covering IFS operations and consultant services, the agreement covers 24/7 support of WMS’s global network organisation and a broad range of maintenance services.
Strong local competence
Terje Mjøs, ErgoGroup’s managing director says that, “This is a good example of how a strong local competence environment can deliver solid and documented solutions to a significant international organisation. ErgoGroup is pleased that Wilhelmsen Maritime Services has chosen to expand their agreement with us and looks forward to continuing our work to find new solutions that simplify the workday for the users in WMS’s network.
The advanced business application is based on IFS and will be primarily delivered by ErgoGroup’s competence centre in Kongsberg. Delivery will commence immediately.
