“The Nalfleet acquisition enhances our world leading position within marine chemicals,” says Thomas Wilhelmsen, group CEO at Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding (WWH). “Nalfleet will be a valuable addition to our total product range and chemical expertise within the ships service segment.”
Nalfleet is the marine division of Nalco, the world’s largest sustainability services company. Nalfleet provides marine water treatment chemicals and is a sales and technical service organisation supported by an international manufacturing and distribution system operating in more than 500 major ports around the world. Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s own global network is already capable of servicing 2 200 ports in 125 countries.
The production of Nalfleet chemicals will be transferred to Wilhelmsen’s own production company Unitor Chemicals AS.
“The acquisition is strategically important as it reinforces our position as a global player within marine chemicals,” says Wilhelmsen. “We expect Nalfleet to contribute with some USD 20 million to our revenue. In addition, we have a significant synergy potential going forward.”
“We will continue to create value by developing a diversified business portfolio focusing on car/ro-ro and associated logistics, maritime services and new opportunities within the maritime sector. We are focused on opportunities and M&As, and will leverage our market positions, global network and collective competence to continue to grow our business going forward. By this we will continue to be shaping the maritime industry,” Wilhelmsen ends.
