“We are still in the aftermath of the financial crisis. However, promising signals from most of the markets in which the WW group operates, give me reason to expect continued growth in the demand for ocean transportation of cars and ro-ro cargo and integrated logistics solutions as well as maritime services,” says Thomas Wilhelmsen.
“In addition, the recent restructuring of the group has given us a structure in which we can capitalise on the unique platform we have in both Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA and Wilhelmsen Maritime Services. The structure facilitates further development of the two segments. Going forward, we have greater flexibility to act on opportunities that are likely to arise.”
Thomas Wilhelmsen holds a Master of Arts in Business Organisation from the Herriot-Watt University in Scotland, in addition to a number of courses from other universities, including the Programme for Executive Development at IMD, Switzerland. Wilhelmsen has more than ten years experience from the Wilh. Wilhelmsen group, where he has held a variety of positions including deputy CEO and group vice president for shipping and regional director Europe for Wilhelmsen Maritime Services. He has also held several positions in Australia including managing director for Tudor AS’ investments in Australia.
