Internet users can now see the full breadth of the group. The portal embraces new websites for Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA (WW), WW Shipping, WW Logistics, Wilhelmsen Maritime Services, Barwil Unitor Ship Services and Barber Ship Management. A fully integrated and uniform design has been applied for all group companies.
“We want the new sites to be useful and interesting, and to help enhance knowledge of our group,” says Cecilie Stray, group vice president for corporate communications at WW.
“They will provide up-to-date information about us for existing and potential customers and partners, the media, investors, jobseekers, government authorities, the general public and other target audiences.”
Extensive efforts and systematic work have been invested in developing the new sites by members of a project team and by participants in internal workshops.
“Personnel from all our subsidiaries have been involved,” explains Marianne Wang, a communication officer in WW’s corporate communications department and project manager for the new portal.
Customer focus
A new business index on the main page of www.wilhelmsen.com allows users to find the product or service they require at a glance. Visitors can enter the parent company site and work their way down to the subsidiaries, or vice versa.
The new sites replace many separate ones. Wholly-owned subsidiaries have their own sites, which share a common design theme for the group. Partly-owned subsidiaries and joint ventures will retain separate sites with a different design, but linked to the main portal.
Bouvet, a Norwegian provider of consultancy and development services for information technology, has assisted WW in developing the new internet portal and sites.
