The ARC Fleet expands from five to eight vessels

29.09.2005 (WW )
The partly owned Wilh. Wilhelmsen company American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier, Inc (ARC) is now expanding its fleet of US flagged vessels from five to eight ships.

-  This expansion is part of our strategical focus on the American continent, says president and GCEO Ingar Skaug in Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA (WW).

ARC is one of the companies jointly owned by Wallenius Lines AB and WW. The partners also own Wallenius Wilhelmsen Lines AS and the Korean company EUKOR Car Carriers, Inc. together. The companies ship high and heavy cargoes and vehicles. ARC transports among other things private cars for the American state administration, cargoes for relief organisations and commercial cargoes.

One of the vessels now deployed in ARC comes from the WW fleet, whilst the two others are from Wallenius Lines. The transition will be commemorated by a ceremony on Thursday 29 September in Baltimore in the United States.
