The board of WWH currently consists of five people. None of the directors are basically up for election. Wilhelm Wilhelmsen, however, wants to step down from the board.
"Wilhelm Wilhelmsen has with his broad knowledge been pivotal in the development of the company for about 50 years. We understand his wish to step down, but are also pleased to know that he continues as an advisor to the board and the company," says Diderik Schnitler, chair of WWH.
At the general meeting to be held on 28 April 2011 the nomination committee will propose Carl Erik Steen as a new member.
"WWH is a global maritime industry group. The nomination committee has been focused on finding a candidate who has good industry knowledge, combined with financial and commercial understanding. In the nomination committee’s opinion, Carl Erik Steen’s extensive knowledge and experience from shipping and finance makes him well qualified for the position as director of WWH," says Wilhelm Wilhelmsen, chair of the nomination committee.
Carl Erik Steen (born 1951) was until recently head of the Shipping, Oil Services and International Division at Nordea Bank ASA. He has extensive experience in shipping and banking, the last 20 years with leading positions in the IM Skaugen AS, Christiania Bank and Kredtikassen ASA and Nordea Bank ASA. He has several positions in listed and private companies.
Steen has a M.Sc. Industrial Management Engineering from E.T.H. Zurich, Switzerland. He is a Norwegian citizen, and has no shares or options in the company.
