Banoun is partner in the lawfirm Wiersholm, Mellbye & Bech, and works primarily with tax law, company law, EEA law and litigation. She has also worked as a lawyer with the lawfirm BA-HR and as corporate lawyer in Telenor.
Banoun has a Magister Juris in European and Comparative Law (M. jur) from Oxford University (1993) and a Doctorate in Tax Law from the University of Oslo, her Ph.d being on tax avoidance (2003). She has also been a Research fellow at the University of Oslo (1997 – 2001) as well as a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Law School (1997).
The Board of Directors of WW ASA now consists of Wilhelm Wilhelmsen (Chair), Leif T. Løddesøl, Helen Juell, Odd Rune Austgulen, Diderik Schnitler and Bettina Banoun. The share of female Directors is 33 percent.
President Ingar Skaug and Vice President Sjur Galtung have been re-elected as Deputy Members to the Board of Directors.
