There are many players fighting for available financing and the cost of capital is currently high. In today’s market a sale/lease back of the head office building can represent an attractive source of capital.
“A final decision is dependent on the terms we are offered,” says group CFO Nils Petter Dyvik at Wilh. Wilhelmsen. “Our core business is within the maritime industry and not the property sector. We need to ensure that we are agile and have financial flexibility when new and strategic opportunities arise within our defined core sector.”
There are no current plans to move the group’s head office from its present location at Lysaker.
Wilh. Wilhelmsen moved to Strandveien 20 in 1995. The 19 885 sq metres building was designed by Arcasa arkitekter for Wilh. Wilhelmsen and has extensive use of maritime details.
