We are a leading global maritime industry group offering shipping and logistics solutions as well as maritime services through a worldwide network embracing some 16 000 employees at more than 400 offices in some 70 countries. Joint ventures included, the group employs almost 24 000 people.
In 2013, the group posted an operating profit of USD 363 million based on a total income of USD 3 533 million. The results were down compared with 2012 mainly as a consequence of reduced demand for sea transportation of cars and high and heavy cargo and a non-recurring sale gain of USD 134 million.
Uncertainties related to the development of the shipping and logistics markets affects the group’s prospects for 2014. However, it is expected that the activity level for maritime services will gradually pick up during 2014, supported by underlying growth in the world economy, global trade and maritime markets. Long term, the group remains well positioned to benefit from growth potentials in the markets in which it operates.
