Security in the WW group

Companies involved in international operations must manage increasingly complex sets of risks in order to maintain a sustainable business.

Acknowledge this fact, and in order to strengthen our security preparedness even further, Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA and Wallenius have resolved to cooperate more closely in pooling security expertise, experience and resources. A common security policy and a corresponding set of security guidelines have been developed to govern our jointly-owned subsidiaries as well as fully owned companies within each group. Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA and Wallenius, including its subsidiaries, affiliated, and operating group of companies, have implemented security measures to create a secure environment for our people to work in, to safeguard our customers' assets, and to protect our owners' investments.

By a clear leadership and directions from our owners, along with broad communication, information sharing and extensive involvement by all levels of management, it is implemented a holistic layered security structure for our global business network. A common security policy and a supporting security guideline have been developed to establish coherent and efficient security practices to be applied across all operating companies. This policy and guideline is supported by each company, region and business unit and is based on the core values of our organization to build a “security culture” by the direct involvement of all line managers and contributors, on a day to day basis.

The security of ships and port facilities under our control is based on full compliance with all the provisions of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.

Our Security Policy is based on the following overriding principles:

Awareness
Personnel and the organizations must continually be aware of their environment in which they operate in an attempt to prevent acts that threaten security.

Prevention
Measures designed to mitigate risks, by a proactive approach where security forms an integral part of company planning processes and line management responsibilities.

Response
Prepare personnel and the organizations to act upon unusual observations, a threat or incident compromising the security of persons, the facilities, cargo or vessels.

Incident Management
Have the ability to appropriately and quickly respond to a threat or actual security incident in order to mitigate the consequences of any such act.

We continue to be on the forefront of Security, and are continuously working with our customers and the authorities to ensure the safety and security of our global businesses. Security is a critical component of our operational excellence. Security is a shared responsibility of all parties within the groups.
